Something about summertime just makes everything a little better. The summer just seems to bring out the best in everyone and everything. The best games seem to be announced. Blockbuster movies are always great and tend to be”box office”. The sun shines a little brighter, and everyone is a little happier. The clubs and parties are more hyped. Whatever the case is, summertime is memorable and an amazing time of the year. But one thing that keeps the summers in our memories, is our favorite song of the summer. You know the one when you turn on the radio and every station seems to be playing it, or for the new generation, turn on Spotify or Pandora. No summer is complete without a summer anthem, and that’s why I am going to tell you what this year’s summer anthem is going to be.
The Weeknd, Toronto native who has been killing the music game ever since being put on by Drake, has done it again, with a new song titled “The Hills”. Originally title “Mood Music” and played as a snippet at SXSW, the officially version has been released and it does not disappoint. What sounded like another possible love song at first, turned into a beautiful work that is somewhere between R&B and Hip Hop. Borrowing a little swag from another Canadian native, PartyNextDoor, The Weeknd has made a classic that will surely be the hit of the summer. This song is straight fire, and If you haven’t already heard it, I will post the official video, and the snippet below. The lyrics are also NSFW so be sure you keep the volume low. Share your thoughts in the comment section and enjoy your summer’s theme song as proclaimed by Ryan Infamous. Enjoy!
