Sony underestimated the demand for the PlayStation Camera and are facing “severe supply constraint” Chris Norden stated during the Game Developer Conference, or also known as GDC.
Gamespot reports that Chris Norden, who is a senior developer for Sony, said that Sony did not demand to be as high for the peripheral as it is. Right now the camera is only connected to about 15% of PlayStation 4’s that are sold, meaning around 900,000 were sold. Sony is not sure when the Camera will be back on sale, but told the media and consumers it should be soon. The short supply is causing many to increase the price of the product.
